Great piece, but I think you missed one of the more powerful ones that circulates particularly strongly in circles of power: techno-optimism. Technology can solve any problem technology has created, and climate change is no different. Geoengineering will allow us to keep living our sad wasteful lives without changing a thing. Sometimes it takes the form of full acknowledgment of climate change but a complete denial of needed responses by diverting the policy discussion into techno solutions.
